COMETS' Open Data policy
Interdisciplinary and innovative projects such as COMETS produce large sets of heterogenous data that come from a variety of different sources such as web-scraping, data mining, ad-hoc surveys, text analysis, interviews and in-depth case studies.
Access to and re-use of research data collected and generated along the project are the key factor to knowledge discovery and innovation. In order to address this issue, we adopted a Data Management Plan (DMP) following the H2020 Template v1.0, 13/10/2016 and draws on the Guidelines on FAIR Data Management in Horizon 2020 (v.3, 26/07/2016) aimed at implementing the decision of the consortium to participate in the Horizon 2020 Open Research Data Pilot.
In practice, for maximising the exploitation of data potential, we will facilitate their sharing within and beyond the consortium following the principle “as open as possible, as closed as necessary”. Selected data and results will be shared with the scientific community and other stakeholders through open access data repositories, publications in scientific journals and contributions at conferences.
The table below offers an overview of the datasets that will be produced by COMETS and synthesizes our Open Access policy. For any further detail about COMETS' DMP and the timing for the datasets to be realesed, the please contact the Data Manager.
